Startupik was founded in 2018, alongside its founder’s first attendance at Web Summit Lisbon, with a clear mission:
to share the real, unsanitized reality of the startup world — without hype, exaggeration, or showmanship.

From the outside, the startup ecosystem often looks colourful, exciting, and full of success stories.
In reality, it is intense, competitive, high-risk, and filled with difficult decisions.
Startupik exists to discuss honestly that reality — the aspects that are rarely discussed, but are essential for every entrepreneur to understand.

What Startupik Does

Startupik began as a content-driven startup magazine, but its vision goes far beyond being just a media outlet.

At Startupik, we:

  • Publish real, experience-based startup stories

  • Share research, insights, and analysis from global startup ecosystems

  • Introduce practical tools and frameworks that genuinely help startups grow

  • Curate and present top startups from different countries, categorised and comparable

Our goal is to help audiences worldwide better understand startups and innovation ecosystems globally.

The Road Ahead

Startupik is being developed with a long-term vision.
Our objective is to introduce at least one meaningful new feature every quarter (every 3 months) — gradually evolving Startupik from a content platform into a practical tool for startup visibility and growth.

Startupik aims to become a bridge between:

Startupik was founded by Ali Haji Mohammadi,
An entrepreneur and founder of multiple startups in Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

Ali studied startup and entrepreneurship at the University of California, Berkeley, and brings a combination of academic exposure and hands-on experience to this project.

Startupik is built on real-world practice in launching, building, and scaling startups — not theoretical assumptions. It reflects real challenges, real decisions, and real lessons from the field.

The Startupik Team

Startupik is run by a lean, agile startup team based in the United Arab Emirates.

The team focuses on:

  • Developing new features and capabilities

  • Producing deep, practical, and reliable content

  • Smart marketing and ecosystem-driven growth

  • Building international relationships and collaborations

We intentionally remain a small team to stay fast, flexible, and execution-focused — exactly how a real startup should operate.
